This centuries-old technique involves a meticulous methodology that starts with wooden blocks hand-carved by artisans, many of whom are carrying on a family tradition that's been passed down for generations. The artist dips each block into ink, then presses the design onto the base material, repeating the process until they've created a pattern that feels every bit as special as it looks. Danica Studio has transformed and honoured this traditional technique with a modern day interpretation in this napkin design.
