Cotton Bud Box
Cotton Bud Box
Zero Waste bamboo cotton buds are the perfect FULLY environmentally friendly cotton buds. Plastic cotton bud stems are a light plastic, meaning they float on the waters surface. This alongside their small shape, means they make their way through sewage treatment centres and out into nature marine environments through regular sewage outfalls. This is an issue because these plastic pieces end up in our oceans- Zero Waste Club made bamboo cotton buds to replace these!
Pack of 200 bamboo cotton buds in recycled kraft paper - 100% recyclable and biodegradable
- The product does not have any animal derivatives and no unnatural substances were used. No plastic or chemicals used.
Zero Waste Club share maker's stories for each of their products:
'My name is Caiyun Ni. I am 48 years old and have been working at the production facility for the last 6 years. I enjoy my work here because I love working in a big team! We have meetings every morning to discuss problems encountered at work. It feels good when we are all working together and part of a team!
The company is very considerate of its employees and our family. My job at the factory provides me with good satisfying work. I live in Jinhua with my family. My husband and my daughter both work in Hangzhou as well. I hope you remember me the next time you use the cotton buds!'
The production facility is based in Zhejiang Province in China. The minimum wage of this province is CNY 1800 RMB per month. The artisans and workers are paid double the minimum wage at CNY 3000 per month. Makers work 40 hours a week, 5 days a week and are off on all holidays.
Regular health checks are done at the expense of the company. And all major employee well-being insurance is covered by the company.
From the brand founders: Feeling frustrated and let-down by the extent of the damage we have done to our environment, two friends went in search of answers. While the markets are changing slowly, they noticed that many products that are eco-friendly are given a luxury label. They also found that many products sold under the “eco” label tend to stretch the definition of sustainability. Thus they decided to start their own journey to produce truly sustainable, beautifully designed, ethical and vegan essentials at affordable prices.
"We want to do more than just make beautiful eco-friendly products. So we are going to make the most transparent, ethical, sustainable goods company on earth. Opening up our supply chain fully for everyone to see. To show that there is a nicer way to do business. Hopefully this will inspire other businesses to do the same." -Pawan Saunya & Rishi Gupta, Co-Founders of Zero Waste Club
